Animals should be treated with respect. Our animals have free access to wholesome and nutritious food. They have the ability to get ample exercise and live the majority of their lives outside. During inclement weather animals are provided appropriate shelter. They are kept in clean and sanitary conditions with plenty of ventilation. In the rare case an animal falls ill (which is extremely rare), they receive prompt medical attention.

At Flourish & Roam, animal welfare is paramount. We ensure that all animals are raised in a stress-free environment which includes spacious pastures, natural lighting, and freedom to roam. The nutrient profile of 100% grass-grazed beef is superior to that of conventionally raised beef. Our partner farm utilizes a unique ranching approach to raise Paddlefish, allowing these majestic fish ample space to thrive in natural lake environments, with densities as low as 10 to 20 fish per water acre. This method, which we refer to as "Free Range Caviar," ensures the fish can swim freely and grow in conditions that closely mimic their natural habitat. Unlike conventional aquaculture that relies on tank systems and a diet of pelleted food, our Paddlefish forage naturally on abundant zooplankton in the lakes.

The Paddlefish are introduced to these lakes once they reach about 18 inches in length, a size at which they are safe from most natural predators. These conditions are ideal as they allow Paddlefish to exhibit natural behaviors and growth patterns over the next ten years, ensuring the caviar produced is of the highest quality.

Harvesting is done with precision and care, using specialized gear that prevents harm to smaller fish and ensures only the intended Paddlefish are collected. The caviar is then processed using a blend of ancient Jurassic Period salts, tailored to enhance the unique flavor profile of each batch, depending on the specific lake's characteristics.
